Lovett
v Pope - Varsity Boys The third game of a busy week was played
against a well organized and talented Pope team. The first half was a
relatively tame affair and gave little hint of the fireworks to come. Lovett
started the game passing very well and probably had the better of the opening
40 minutes. Jack Hall played in Sam Roberson whose shot was well saved by the
impressive Pope goalkeeper. At the other end there was good defending from
Harrison Dykes and Tyler Decker while Teddy Rodts was using his pace to good advantage
down the left side. Lovett had a let off when a Pope striker missed
when through on goal but otherwise there were few scares and Andrew Bleke had
a chance after good link-up play between Teddy Rodts and Eddie Nam, but his
shot went over. |
